  CURATING/ RESEARCH PROJECTS
2019-21 Gesture/ Pause/ Proximity, 2019-2021
An interdisciplinary research project, co-curated with visual arts producer Orlagh Wood, to explore to what extent a greater awareness of non-verbal communication may enable us to develop more inclusive conversation and, eventually, the spaces for that communication to take place. Funded by Arts Council England and the Wellcome Trust, London.

  • The project includes a public research residency at The Wellcome Collection, London, as well as ongoing conversations between invited artists, academics, performers, writers, scientists, psychotherapists and architects. (Outline  arrow image signposting link to project pageGesture/ Pause/ Proximity, 2019-2021)
2016 Towards the Mean, The Barbican, London
Installation commission for The Barbican Foyer Space (16 March – 19 June 2016). Includes:

  • Towards the Mean: Identity in Britain Today — a panel discussion, co-curated with Orlagh Woods (The Barbican), to expand on questions raised by the installation, with presentations by Claudia Aradau (KCL Reader in International Politics), Kannan Navaratnem (Psychoanalyst) and Rebecca Omonira-Oyekanmi (Writer/ Reporter).
2007-11 On Repetition, 2007-2011
Studio and public projects to explore repetition and its usefulness. Includes:

  • CIRCULAR WALKS (and the notion of repetition) — a series of largely studio-based projects spanning video, photography, animation, drawing and installation to practically and conceptually explore the notion of repetition and its potential as a model for progression and expression.
  • 100 things not worth repeating — a series of public projects, events, symposia and publication, to collectively examine the value and effectiveness of repetition in general and repetition as a model for progression in particular. Funded by Arts Council England.
